The Pining Question

The question is not "Do you want to be happy?" it is however "Do you want to die in your sins?".  I am posting this to tell you that you can be reconciled to God.  Our sin has offended God, but He is ready and willing to forgive.  Rather than asking, "Do you want to go to Heaven"?, I ask, "Do you want your sins forgiven"?.  We have a God who forgives and reconciles sinners to Himself.

How can He do this? 2 Corinthians 5:21 - God took His perfect sinless Son and treated Him as if He committed your sins and then He takes you and treats you as if you were sinless.

Imagine if you were a convicted criminal with a criminal record of numerous heinous crimes and you find yourself in a court room facing sentencing.  You know you are guilty of all charges and the evidence brought against you is quite clear.  Just before your sentencing, a man walks in the court room and approaches the judge.  After whispering in the judge's ear, the judge motions to the Bailiff and he arrests the man and they take him out of the court room.  As you stand there wondering what is going on, another Bailiff approaches you and hands you a file folder.  You look into the folder and find a Social Security Card, a Driver's License and a stack of legal documents.  On closer look, you notice that the folder contains everything necessary to change legally a person's identity along with an individual criminal record that states "Criminal Record Clear".  In bewilderment, you notice that the Driver's license contains your picture.  The Bailiff that hands you the folder now escorts you out of the court room, hands you some personal items and walks you to the exit doors of the building.  You are set free and you can legally assume a new life.

This is what God did for us.  He takes His Son's perfect sinless life and treats us as if we lived His perfectly righteous life.  He will do this because He already took His Son and treated Him as if He lived our wretched sinful life.

Again, I ask, "Do you want to die in your sins?".
