"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9 ESV)
To confess means "to say the same thing" - Do you say the SAME thing about your sin as the One True God of the Bible says or have you made up a god of your liking, one that approves of your sin?
